(WHBL) – Many delays and deadline adjustments forced by the pandemic are still in effect, and drivers over age 60 have been given another grace period. The Wisconsin DMV has granted them an additional 60-day extension to renew their drivers license. That deadline is now November 23rd and applies to seniors whose license expired after March 12th.
DMV Administrator Kristina Boardman said: “We do not want people in this higher-risk demographic to feel that they need to renew their license when they may not be comfortable going to a DMV office.”
Boardman added that anyone can renew their license up to a year before the expiration date so winter weather is avoidable now. Also, a now-expired drivers license used for identification at the voting polls is still valid as long as it expired after the last general election, November 6 of 2018.
Drivers can go online to complete and submit an electronic application and make an appointment that will shorten the needed in-person visit to the DMV office, and as for vehicle-related services, all that can be done completely online or by mail.
