(WHBL) – The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a marsh fire that burned between 30 and 40 acres last Wednesday. The department received a 911 call shortly after 7 that evening concerning the fire on Fond du Lac County Highway “W” north of Sunset Lane in the Township of Ashford. A witness reported seeing a vehicle stopped on the shoulder prior to the fire starting.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Campbellsport Fire Department responded to the burn, which affected a field of mostly cattails and a small wooded area. No injuries were reported.
The investigation remains underway and the origins of the fire are unknown at this time.
