(WHBL) – Keeping our parks and natural areas clean is everyone’s responsibility, and not just the job of state or municipal crews. But this Saturday, three Lake Michigan beaches get special attention when the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership holds beach cleanup events here. The efforts will take place between 9 and 11 AM on May 8th at General King Park, Deland Park, and at the North Point Park and Cove, and all cleanup supplies are provided except for face masks. Participants are being asked to bring their own, and to use social distancing to stay safe.
Along with the in-person efforts, a Facebook event has been coordinated by the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership and Friends of the Manitowoc River Watershed to take place at the same time. Persons in both counties are being encouraged to become a team leader and recruit friends to participate both online and on the shore.
