Sartori Cheese in Plymouth has received the OK from the Plymouth Plan Commission to expand its Whey Converting facility, and construction has already begun. The plant on County Road “PP” converts and packages cheese prior to being shipped to cheese shops, grocery stores, restaurants and food manufacturers around the world, and currently occupies nearly 84,000 square feet. The new addition will add another 22,000 square feet to the plant, and is expected to be completed by November this year.
In a release issued this past Friday, fourth-generation family member and president Bert Sartori expressed gratitude to customers, the Sartori team members and family farms, and said that the expansion will position the company to meed demands well into the future.
City of Plymouth Administrator Jordan Skiff also said that the city was thrilled to see continued growth for Sartori in Plymouth, and noted the ability of Sartori to adapt during the pandemic as an example of a strong local company finding a way to thrive and grow in tough times.
