Has Chris Berman ever given his signature ‘WHOOOP’ on a field goal attempt before?? Last night might have been his best shot.
Absolutely absurd weather conditions in Buffalo last night. There was snow and hurricane force winds. Snurricane. I think it got a little better toward the end of the game, but what’s really wild for my fellow gambling degenerates was watching the total-points line fall like a rock once clips of the weather conditions starting surfacing. It dipped EIGHT POINTS in a matter of 20 minutes. Never seen anything like that in my life. Every once in a while you’ll see a total-points line drop off by a point or two before a game depending on weather and where heavy money might put just before kickoff, but 8 points?? Never.
And I also feel pretty safe in saying that we’ll never see another NFL game in our lifetime where the winning team attempts 3 passes. Mac Jones was 2/3 for 19 yards. 2/3! The Patriots ran the ball 46 times for 222 yards and won the game. They basically took a game script from the Badgers when Ron Dayne was the running back and Mike Samuel was the starting quarterback in 1998. Crazy.
As for the Packers, the #1 question on everyone’s mind coming out of the bye was a status update on Za’Darius Smith, David Bakhtiari, and Jaire Alexander. All Matt LaFleur would say yesterday was that we will, ‘potentially,’ see them on the practice field this week. I don’t think we are fully appreciating the fact that the Packers are the best team in football and they’re about to get THREE ALL PRO PLAYERS back from injury. This would be like if the Brewers would have added a staff ace, power hitting 3rd baseman, and Gold Glove defender at the trade deadline last season. Let’s. Go.

‘HB Slam’ was virtually unstoppable with Jerome Bettis in Madden ’01.
