Sheboygan’s Habitat for Humanity is among the recipients sharing in over $82 million from the Federal American Rescue Plan Act.
The funds from the Equitable Recovery Program were steered towards programs that help eliminate disparities and increase equity in communities disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards were announced on Tuesday by Governor Evers.
Habitat for Humanity Lakeside was the only Sheboygan County organization among the more than 120 recipients statewide, and will receive $243,160.84 that it will use for programs that include home building and repair, and neighborhood improvement in Sheboygan County.
Hmong Health and Community Development Inc. of Manitowoc was also among area recipients. They were awarded $201,210.00.
