ICE. COLD.

I don’t know what else to say about this fella. He’s the best. He’s the most dominant player in the league. Every night he does something that makes you gasp. On Tuesday in Philadelphia he put up 40/14/6 with the game sealing block. Last night he put up 44/14/6, hit the game tying 3, and hit the game winning free throws with 3 seconds left. We are watching a player who is already an all-time great and he’s just at the BEGINNING of his prime.
Really think about that last sentence. Giannis has 2 MVP’s, a DPOY, a Finals MVP, a ring, and he’s just entering his best years. There’s a real chance he wins his 3rd MVP* and hopefully a second championship this year. I try not to become a prisoner of the moment, but I think he might already be the best athlete in Wisconsin history. And I’ve had the privilege of watching guys like Favre, Rodgers, Yount, Yeli, etc. in my lifetime. I realize not everyone is a big NBA fan, but if you’re not at least taking some time to watch what Giannis does on a night-in, night-out basis, you’re truly missing out. I try to preach the gospel of Giannis to everyone I talk to and this blog is no different. Don’t let these moments pass you by, there will never be another one like him.
*And he is the MVP. The only obstacle at this point is voter fatigue. Which is a real, and very dumb, thing about the NBA. If Giannis had never won an MVP, he’d be the clear cut winner this season. But he’s already won 2 so until this week he’s barely gotten any press. So stupid.
PS: On top of everything else, he’s funny, relatable, humble, thoughtful, and carries himself like this at all times:

Again: Don’t take a minute for granted.
Double PS: In the words of Helen Seinfeld: ‘How could anyone not like him???’:
