After seeing a nearly continual decline from 5,202 active cases on January 25, to only 59 on April 7, a reversal has taken place and the trend now is one of increasing activity once again. Since that April 7 low, each day has been either steady or has seen an increase so that by Wednesday, April 20, there were 101 active cases in Sheboygan County, the first time 100 or more were logged since March 21. A total of 29,476 cases in all have been recorded during the ongoing pandemic. 7-day averages of daily new confirmed cases of COVID-19 undergo revisions on a daily basis. Most recently, that figure was at 7 on Monday, and has subsided to 6 as of Tuesday.
The rise of 12 active cases on Wednesday comes as 17 new confirmed positive tests were weighed against 4 recoveries and one death, this time to a person in their 70s. Of the 267 casualties so far, one was between 10 and 19 years old, one in their 20s, six in their 30s, nine were in their 40s, nineteen in their 50s, forty-four in their 60s, seventy-one in their 70s, and one-hundred-sixteen were at least 80 years old.
Two more persons were recorded as hospitalized at least once for COVID-19 since Tuesday, but the number currently hospitalized remained at zero.
8 first-dose recipients of vaccine were noted since Tuesday, raising that total to 72,570, or 63.0% of the county population. 19 got their 2nd dose, raising that total to 69,690, or 60.5%. 33.1%, or 38,154, have received boosters, a gain of 18 in the last day.
