‘Consumer Reports had a very funny joke today, I laughed at it later that night with my thermostat set to 66 degrees!’
I mean this has to be a troll job, right? Consumer Reports, a staple of non-biased (wink) product reviews since 1936, released a report stating that the ideal temperature for you house during the day is 78 degrees, when you’re gone is 85 degrees, and at night is 82 degrees. LOLOL. Live look:

There’s no CHANCE anybody can sleep with their bedroom at 82 degrees at night. That’s a sweat lodge. You’d be seeing visions. I’d rather be water boarded and go to bed in a 65 degree room than attempt to sleep in an 82 degree room at night.
Now I will grant you that I probably enjoy life a little cooler than most, but here’s what we’re rocking at our house:
Winter: 67 degrees during the day, 62 at night.
Summer: AC set to 68 degrees.
Room fan: On at all times.
Now I guess Consumer Reports is saying that those temperatures are optimal for the heating/cooling efficiency in the house, not optimal for a normal human being going about everyday life. So maybe that makes a little more sense. But I can’t think of a single person I’m run into on this mortal coil that would prefer 82 degrees at night while trying to sleep. And if I do run into someone like that I’m immediately contacting the FBI to have them put on a watch list.
PS: Me every fall: ‘I don’t care how cold it gets, I’m not turning on the heat until at least November 1st!’ Me in spring the second it gets to 70 degrees regardless of date: ‘CRANK UP THE AC!’
