Summer officially arrived at 4:13 this morning and, in case there’s any doubt about the warm weather, the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for the southeast half of Wisconsin, with the larger area extending north into the U.P. and southwest to Kansas.
With the advisory in effect until 7 this evening, people are being advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Don’t forget about pets. Be sure they have shade and plenty of water. Also, neither those…nor young children…should EVER be left in unattended vehicles under any circumstances. Anyone overcome by the heat should get help right away, since heat stroke is a 9-1-1 emergency.
