So I assume the work on the Rich Bisaccia statue out side of Lambeau Field starts today? Or later in the week? The only question is what pose they’re going to go with. Personally I like the podium look with the glasses that attach in the middle hanging off of his neck:
But I could also see an action pose working as well:

Either option feels appropriate for the man destined to be enshrined between Lambeau and Lombardi outside of the stadium.
In all seriousness, pretty awesome to see Pat O’Donnell named Special Teams Player of the Week in the NFC. In a game that came down to defense and field position, his 5 punts inside the 20 were YUGE.
And I know we talked about this in the recap blog on Monday, but it does blow me away the turnaround we’ve already seen with this unit in 3 short weeks under Bisaccia. Special Teams couldn’t accomplish basic tasks the ENTIRE SEASON last year, and it all culminated by single-handedly costing them a playoff game in January at Lambeau Field. And the most infuriating part was that we all saw it coming. We all saw the red traffic line on Google Maps but decided to get on the highway anyway and were shocked when we were in wall-to-wall traffic.
But what a breath of fresh air to not anticipate doom anytime that side of the ball takes the field. We’re cleanly fielding punts! Hell we’re even GAINING some yards on returns! We’re stopping other return teams inside the 25! We don’t have a defensive lineman coming within an eyelash of blocked a kick every single time Mason Crosby lines up for a field goal or extra point! And we have a punter who can kick for distance AND hangtime! What a concept! All we ever wanted as Packer fans was for this unit to be AVERAGE, and Bisaccia has gone and spoiled us by having a top 10 unit in the first 3 weeks. Incredible.
PS: I’m sure Bisaccia was disappointed he didn’t get the Raiders head coaching gig, but he could NOT have ended up in a better situation coming to Green Bay to coach Special Teams. I tell every high school or college student I meet: You always want to start your career where expectations are the lowest. And the expectations of our Special Teams could not have been lower for Packer fans. If our Special Teams were a car, it would have been a 1970 Gremlin. We just wanted something that runs and is somewhat reliable. A 1995 Cavalier would have done. And that’s EXACTLY where you want to be as the new manager/coach/employee. You want a 1995 Chevy Cavalier to be enough. The more you know.
