As expected, the Sheboygan County Board on Tuesday night confirmed Alayne Krause as the new Sheboygan County Administrator. Krause takes the office formerly held by Adam Payne, with whom she served as Deputy Administrator. Payne resigned to accept Governor Tony Evers’ appointment to be the Secretary of the Wisconsin DNR in January.
Sheboygan County worked with the recruitment firm GovHRUSA to fill the position through a nationwide search, and many qualified candidates were identified. After top candidates were put through a rigorous screening process and interviewed, Krause was chosen as the best by former County Board Chairs and the County Board’s Executive Committee.
Krause has served in several capacities within the county organization over the past ten years, and also currently serves on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity and the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce.
In announcing Krause’s selection, County Board Chairperson Vernon Koch said that “Alayne has an excellent rapport with the County Board of Supervisors, Department Heads, employees across the organization, and numerous community partners. We are excited to continue working with her in the County Administrator Role.”
Upon accepting the appointment, Krause stated that “I am committed to working in collaboration with the County Board, nearly 850 dedicated employees, and the community to continue Sheboygan County’s strong track record of providing responsive and cost-effective services.”
