It appears that yet “another Thursday, another storm” scenario is in store for Wisconsin, with the Sheboygan area among those in the bullseye for some of the heaviest snow.
A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from 6 this evening until 10 on Friday morning with 5 to 9 inches of wet, heavy, windblown snow the main feature. It’s also possible that some areas could get even more than that. While this evening’s commute will likely be OK after above-freezing temperatures were maintained since 7 a.m. on Wednesday, by 6 tonight the snow may be falling heavily enough to make roads slick, and by 6 on Friday morning we may be dealing with around 7-1/2 inches on the ground, making the morning commute anything but easy. Forecasters add that it may be 11 a.m. Friday before all is said and done.
Officials are advising that if you must travel overnight, keep an extra flashlight, food and water with you in case of an emergency along with a fully-charged cellphone.
