Hearing Uecker call Mitchell’s walkoff is straight serotonin. Absolute legend

Me playing this back 200 times this morning:

Side note: I still think it fits but that gif is WAY more gross than I expected to be when I typed, ‘goosebumps gif’ into Google.
The rarely seen in the wild double side note: This guy was trending with this take a few days ago:
Unpopular opinion. Bob Uecker might want to think about hanging it up. He’s making mistakes all over the place and doesn’t quite know the rules. The new rules.

I don’t want to be dramatic but this guy needs to be thrown in jail without a trial. Hey, Pat Mayo, newsflash, Bob Uecker has made a million mistakes on the air for about 3 decades. That’s Bob. When I hear Uecker on the call, I know that it’s 50/50 if he gets the inning right, 50/50 if the pitcher and batter names are correct, and there’s a 0% chance I’m getting the score*. And that’s been the case his entire career, it has nothing to do with the fact that he’s 89 years old. You expect Ueck to have a firm grasp of the new rules by game #3?? LOL.
We don’t listen to Uecker for accurate information, we listen for his stories, dry humor, and what we imagine he’s saying when he hits the cough button. And for walkoff calls like yesterday.
Which brings us back to the original blog: The kids strike again. Corbin Burnes had his second rough outing to start the season (he’ll be alright)(pretty sure), but unlike all of last season, the offense picked him up. Joey Wiemer hit his first career home run, Jesse Winker had a clutch two-out, two-run game tying double, and Garrett Mitchell hammered his 3rd home run in two days for a walkoff winner. It’s REALLY early, but for a team that needed a hot start, taking 5 out of their first 6 ain’t too shabby.
Day off today before a pretty important series with the Cardinals at Am Fam on Easter weekend. We talked about the early part of this season being especially important given the contracts for Burnes/Woody/Adames, but the new schedule in MLB also means that division matchups are bigger because there are fewer of them. In previous seasons, you played your division rivals 18 times. Now it’s only 13. Every head to head is that much more important.
PS: Garrett Mitchell said in the postgame that he always plays well when his wife isn’t in attendance, which led to a pretty funny string of tweets from her after the game:
Never going to a game again, you’re welcome Brewers fans

YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO CALL ME OUT LIKE THAT @GarretMitchell5
