Another busy thoroughfare in north-central Sheboygan is ready for a re-do, and so closures connected to the project will be emplaced this coming Monday.
Calumet Drive between Geele and Main Avenues will have damaged or cracked concrete pavement replaced in an effort that’s projected to come to completion in late July – weather permitting.
On Monday, June 19th, southbound Calumet Drive between Geele and Maine Avenues will be closed to all traffic for a period expected to last for between to and three weeks. At the same time, one northbound lane of traffic will be maintained. Southbound traffic will be re-routed via North Avenue and North 15th Street.
Once the southbound lanes of Calumet Drive are finished, the project will tackle northbound lane construction, closing that direction to traffic entirely while maintaining use of one of the new southbound lanes.
The Department of Public Works is urging patience and cooperation during construction in order to maintain safety.
