What a tweet. Aaron Rodgers, who is known worldwide as a guy who just likes to go to work, work hard, and go home, is apparently not pleased that HBO selected the Jets as their featured team on Hard Knocks. Sure. Sure sure sure. Aaron Rodgers to the camera after he said those words out loud:
The truth? There isn’t a person in the Jets locker room more excited to be on Hard Knocks than Aaron Charles Rodgers. This is going to be appointment viewing. I can’t wait for an exchange like this right out the gate:
HBO Producer: So, Aaron, how have things been going for you in New York so far?
Aaron Rodgers:
HBO Producer: ……sooooooo, you’re enjoying it?
It is going to be incredible theater. I don’t think I’ve watched a FULL season of Hard Knocks since the last time the Jets were on with Rex Ryan as their head coach. I watched most of the Cowboys season just to see Coach Mac operate in Dallas, but rest assured I will be locked and loaded for every minute of each of these episodes. This is going to be fun!
PS: I had a texter on the B93 morning show ask me this morning if I thought that Aaron Rodgers just leans into his crazy now. Like is Aaron Rodgers playing a character of Aaron Rodgers? Honestly a good question. I have no idea what’s going on in that brain of his or how it breaks down percentage wise. If I had to guess, I’d say the largest portion of his mind still thinks that he’s the smartest person in the room on all subjects. Probably 65%. There’s also the conspiracy/Reddit thread portion that has to make up about 20%, but I think that leaves at least 15% that does just enjoy saying proactive things in order to garner a reaction. I often think of this scene from Seinfeld when it comes to Aaron Rodgers:
Perhaps there’s more to Aaron than meets the eye. No, there’s less.
Double PS: You know that HBO is DROOLING over the prospect of finally getting their white whale, the Green Bay Packers, on Hard Knocks next season. The Packers have been able to dodge it because they’ve either been in the playoffs, or hiring a new coach, every season since the show started. Those are the rules. Teams that are eligible have to have not made the playoffs the prior season, and did not bring in a new head coach in the offseason. If the Packers don’t make the playoffs this season, and don’t fire LaFleur (they 1,000% wouldn’t do that), they’d be eligible.
