The Kiel Post Office could soon be paying tribute to a native son of that city who lost his life in the line of duty eight years ago. Congressman Glenn Grothman led Representatives Tom Tiffany, Scott Fitzgerald, Derrick Van Orden, Gwen Moore, Bryan Steil, Mike Gallagher and Mark Pocan as the entire Wisconsin delegation introduced the bipartisan proposal to designate the U.S. Post Office in Kiel as the “Trooper Trevor J. Casper Post Office Building”.
Casper graduated Kiel High School with the class of 2011, got his Criminal Justice Degree from LTC in 2014 and fulfilled his dream of becoming a Trooper when he graduated from the State Patrol Academy the next year. Only months later, Trooper Casper became Wisconsin’s youngest police officer ever to be killed in the line of duty.
Congressman Grothman said that “Renaming this post office in his honor serves as a lasting tribute to this young man who was unwavering in his commitment to keeping our streets safe.”
