The City of Sheboygan is asking residents for their input on the future of the City’s waterfront as it develops a master plan. A public meeting and workshop to gather those ideas will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th in the Rocca Room of the Mead Public Library.
In order to create that plan, the City is working with the Smith Group, a company that’s helped develop such things as the Chicago Lakefront Harbor Framework Plan, and which won The American Society of Landscape Architects award for its University of Wisconsin Campus Master Plan in 2018. The City has called its Sheboygan Waterfront and Marina Master Plan “a crucial project aimed at ensuring the vibrancy, accessibility, and sustainability of our waterfront for generations to come.”
Those attending the April 30th meeting can expect to find interactive workshops and group discussions, opportunities to network with others involved in the process, and to exchange in question-and-answer sessions with the Smith Group and city officials.
The City is encouraging as many residents, business owners and organizations as possible to be a part of the plan that’s expected to shape how Sheboygan puts its greatest natural resource to use for everyone’s benefit.
