Details are few concerning the discovery of a deceased person at the site on Erie Avenue where the Gateway Apartments are being constructed.
The Sheboygan Police Department said shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday that their officers responded shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday to 1224 Erie Avenue to check on the welfare of a citizen. The dispatch center had received a report of a person down at that location, and when officers arrived, a 49-year-old Sheboygan man was found deceased. An investigator was sent to the scene in order to assist in the investigation, and as of now, no foul play has been discovered…however the investigation is not complete. An autopsy has been scheduled with the Sheboygan County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The SPD sent its condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.
