Shoutout to my guy @wileyballard_ setting the standard for sports reporters getting a phone number out in the wild.

So I saw this video last night, laughed, and then went about my business of scrolling through Twitter for another hour even though I should be sleeping. Didnāt think much of it, other than that it might be on-air or blog fodder today.
Cut to the aforementioned ātoday.ā I went back to find the video and play the clip on the air, and when I clicked on it and started sifting through the comments, I was somewhat surprised to see this guy getting DRAGGED by a large majority of the people throwing in their two cents. āInappropriate, cringe, YIKES, this aināt it,ā etc.
Iāve got to be honest, I thought this was amusing content at best, at worst it was a nothing burger. But maybe Iām wrong? Iāll grant you, Iām a middle-class white guy in his late late 20ās/early 30ās, so maybe Iām simply missing a double standard here or not seeing it from someone elseās perspective. Definitely a possibility. But it seemed like everyone involved here was having some innocent fun.
Soā¦.thoughts? Like any good blogger/podcaster, I will wait for the majority opinion to be submitted and then parrot that take.
PS: I mean, pretty clever Tweet once he saw sentiment turning against him:
