Construction of a new 138 kV transmission line known as the Plymouth Reliability Project is expected to begin following the finalization of the engineering and design plans, which is expected by the end of September.
American Transmission Company reported to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin that substation construction is now underway and should be completed by October. Required permits have been filed and nearly all materials needed to begin constructing the new lines in the 4th quarter of this year have been delivered.
ATC said that among the 28 contracted employees, 22 are Wisconsin residents and one is an apprentice. Of the total $33.529 million cost of the project, over 1/3 of that ($11.363 million) has already been expended. The lines are expected to be put into service in June of 2026.
