A Manitowoc man who had been convicted of killing his cellmate in a hate crime has filed an appeal.
Jackson Vogel was serving a sentence for attempted homicide when he reportedly attacked and killed his cellmate because of his race and sexual orientation. Vogel is now appealing that conviction. He is currently serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole at the Green Bay Correctional facility.
