SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Those who’ve wondered how and why police do what they do have a chance to get a real inside look through the Sheboygan Police Department’s 2021 Citizen Academy. That’s a 9-week program that meets for 3 hours every Tuesday evening, giving ordinary people a chance to gain knowledge and a better understanding of the vision, values, goals, and operations of the SPD.
Participants will be exposed to many areas of police work including the hiring process, current department initiatives, police investigations, use of force, and the legal system.
Anyone 18 or older with no felony convictions may apply, and background checks are done an all who do. Plus, spots are limited because of the pandemic, so you’re being urged to sign up early if you’re interested.
