SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – Of 42 test results received by the Sheboygan County Division of Health Services since Friday, 6 positive returns raised the total number of COVID-19 cases in the county to 115. 5 persons recovered since yesterday, leaving 24 active cases with no hospitalizations.
The state death toll from the coronavirus pandemic has now reached 645 with the addition of 12 persons succumbing since yesterday. 2.7% of the 11,792 test returns received since Friday were positive – another decline in that important measure. That metric – and 3 others – used to trigger “gating” actions to the gradual lessening of restrictions prescribed by the state, are in the “green”; however flu-like illness reports aren’t declining consistently, nor are the number of health care workers contracting COVID-19.
Sheboygan County entered phase two of the Sheboygan County Safe Restart plan yesterday. Under P2 guidance bars, restaurants and other non-essential businesses can operate at 50% capacity, outdoor events that allow proper social distancing are allowed, and indoor gatherings – private only – should be limited to 25 persons or fewer observing social distancing.
