Another death in Sheboygan County has been attributed to COVID-19 as of Tuesday’s update of data on the Division of Public Health’s Coronavirus Case Dashboard. The 182nd death due to the disease occurred among someone at least 80 years old. Of the victims so far, one person was between 10 and 19, four were in their 30s, seven were in their 40s, eight were in their 50s, twenty-seven were in their 60s, forty-four were in their 70s, and ninety-one were at least 80 years old.
As has been typical for the last few months, a Tuesday bump up in the number of active cases was seen compared to Monday. 1,094 cases are now being monitored by the County DPH, 86 more than the previous day. 128 new positives were received in the last day, upping the running total of cases so far to 20,583, while 41 more recovered in the same time.
While one person was admitted to the hospital for care, raising the total so treated during the pandemic to 1,016, another was discharged and, along with the casualty, the number of current patients dropped by two to 39.
Sheboygan County’s level of community transmission remains “high” with a Case Rate of 525.4 cases per 100,000 persons in the last 7 days – unchanged from Monday’s data. The percent of tests returning positive for COVID was up 0.17% over the last day to 13.42%.
Those having received at least one dose of vaccine in the last day increased by 41 to 69,197, or 60.0% of the county population. Another 46 became fully vaccinated, raising that total to 65,547, or 56.9%.
