It didn’t take long for Sheboygan Police to apprehend two persons implicated in an armed robbery that took place on Sheboygan’s north side on Monday night, thanks in large part to cooperation of the victim, citizens and businesses.
The SPD responded to the incident at about 8:50 p.m. Monday in the 3500 block of Eisner Avenue. A taxi driver reported that upon completing service and dropping off the two persons, a male and female passenger, the male person displayed a handgun and demanded money. The taxi driver turned over the money and both passengers fled the scene.
A perimeter was set up by responding Officers and through investigation were able to develop the location of the subjects of the search. After receiving no answer at the door, a search warrant was obtained and served. Both suspects, a 20-year-old male from Milwaukee and a 21-year-old female from Sheboygan, were located and taken into custody.
Charges of Armed Robbery, Possession of Stolen Property and a Felon in Possession of a Firearm were referred to the District Attorney’s Office on the male suspect, while the female was charged with Armed robbery Party to a Crime. The firearm used in the incident and other evidence were also located there.
The Sheboygan Police Department commended the taxi driver for her ability to remain calm and provide critical information to the investigators. She has been referred to the Victim Witness Unit of the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office for appropriate support services.
The SPD expressed their gratitude for the many citizens and businesses who cooperated and provided information that brought the situation to a resolution.
