***BREAKING–COSTCO ANNOUNCES PLANS TO RAISE FOOD COURT HOT-DOG PRICES BY $1 DUE TO INFLATION

So the above tweet was gaining a TON of steam on social media over the weekend. Inflation hitting so hard that Costco was contemplating raising the price on their hot dog combo meal from $1.50 to $2.50.
Look I realize that we’ve got a deep divide going on in this country right now. Bots screaming at each other on Facebook and Twitter all day along about baby formula, Ukraine, crypto currency, etc. Nobody can agree on anything. But this might be the one thing that can unify us all. I can handle $6 gas and $12 for a package of bacon, but I can’t, nay, I WON’T, stand for a price hike on the Costco all beef hot dog combo meal. You’ve got to draw a line in the sand somewhere and my line is an 8-inch hunk of pure American beef product.
The good news? We don’t have to worry about it. This was all a hoax. A cruel joke perpetrated by a parody account. Normally I can find the humor in fake rumors like this, but I think at minimum this guy needs to be thrown in jail for 15-20 years. Maybe bring back the stockades and put him in there for a few weeks in the middle of town square. There are certain things you don’t joke about, and this is one of them. The Costco hot dog lunch is one of the last bastions of Americana and you just can’t spread false rumors about it without paying some kind of price. What kind of example would that set?
All joking aside: The Costco hot dog combo lunch for $1.50 has to be the best value on the planet. I am genuinely stunned every single time I get it. ‘How is this only $1.50??’- Me 10 bites into the best hot dog on the planet.
PS: I have no idea if this is actually true or not, but I desperately want it to be. What a quote:
Costco's hot dogs have cost $1.50 since their debut in 1985. When the company president protested about losing money, Jim Sinegal (co-founder) said:
"If you raise [the price of] the effing hot dog, I will kill you… Figure it out."

Double PS: I’ve had more than a few people tell me that the Chicken Bake for $2.99 is also superb. Several times in the past few trips I’ve made to Costco, I’ve *ALMOST* ordered it. At the last second I always just blurt out, ‘HOT DOG,’ because I can’t risk not getting the hot dog meal if the Chicken Bake is inferior.
