Debated whether or not to post these but I just can’t get over the joy this brought to my daughter. Thank you Aaron Rodgers she will never forget this! @AaronRodgers12 pic.twitter.com/1QqIdQsbpv

‘I guess this little girl didn’t hear that Rodgers didn’t show up for voluntary OTA’s.’ -Twitter, probably.
Honestly just a nice, refreshing, feel-good post. Aaron Rodgers is in town for MANDATORY mini-camp, he’s out doing a little grocery shopping and bumps into a mom and her daughter. He makes her day, Mom takes a picture, bingo bango it’s a the viral Twitter sensation that makes everyone feel good.
And you know what else made everyone feel good? This:
Just finished 20 minutes at Aaron Rodgers’ locker. Plenty to come, but he said he’s “definitely” retiring a Packer.
“Unless they trade me,” he said with a big smile.
When he’ll retire is TBD. He said his deal is essentially for one year, so he’ll re-evaluate after this season.

This was what I was initially going to blog about before the above picture went viral. Alternative blog headline: ‘Aaron Rodgers makes the day of a 37-year old blogger whose athletic dreams perished in 1995.’ Him making the day of a 5 year old girl pushes more clicks, however.
The only other notable ‘thing’ to come from camp yesterday was the absence of Allen Lazard. He has yet to sign his $2.8 million dollar tender and now is missing mandatory practices. His agent:
Statement from Allen Lazard’s agent, Peter Schaffer, on Lazard’s mandatory minicamp absence: “Allen’s total focus is on having the best possible season he can have as a player & helping the Packers win the Lombardi Trophy. Everything he is doing is to further those objectives.”

Look, Allen Lazard isn’t a dummy. He sees the wide receiver room right now. No Davante Adams, despite his rapport with Aaron Rodgers you can’t lean on Randall Cobb to be a #1 wide receiver, talented unknowns in Watson and Doubs, Sammy Watkins on a 1-year incentive laden deal. And who knows what kind of progress Amari Rodgers has made after a disastrous rookie season. When Lazard has been healthy, he’s been productive. And he’s probably the best run-blocking wide receiver in the entire league. He’s not Davante Adams, but he’s arguably your #1 receiver at the moment. So this is his chance to maybe utilize some leverage to see if he can get a 2 or 3 year deal where he’s making $5-7 million a season. Can’t knock the hustle. I’ve never been in a position where I have contractual leverage, but I’ve heard good things about it. Good for him if he gets it. But my guess is he’s at camp before too long and playing on the tendered contract.
PS: Guys being dudes, love to see it:
