MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Bucks are moving on from their head coach. ESPN reports Mike Budenholzer was fired on Thursday.
The Bucks owned the top-overall seed in the NBA heading into the playoffs, but lost in the first round to the eighth-seeded Miami Heat in five games.
Budenholzer spent five seasons in Milwaukee and compiled a 271-120 regular season record. However, his playoff record is 39-26. Budenholzer led the Bucks to a 2021 NBA title and received a three-year contract extension that offseason.
