‘I’m just gonna send it.’ – That Guy.
If you’re on Twitter* or Facebook or Tik Tok, you’ve probably seen this video about a thousand times in the last 15 hours. I’ve watched it over and over and over again and every single time I am flabbergasted as to how this happened. I have so many questions. In no particular order:
- How?
- Huh?
- What?
And that’s just a start. Honest to God: How, HOW, did he generate that much speed?? Guy shot out of that thing like a canon! And it’s not a big slide. On my initial viewing I was just focused on the result. Given how things went, I expected to see a GIGANTIC slide with a bunch of twists and turns. Nope. This thing is SMALL:

Unless this is a perspective thing and that slide is way higher than it looks, I can’t fathom how he generated that much velocity. Even if you’re using your arms at the entry point to slingshot yourself down, it feels impossible that he’d gain this much steam. I mean look at this, he almost spun himself totally off of the slide:

^Related, how, HOW, did he end up face down? Again, this doesn’t appear to be a big slide. To not only get that kind of speed, but to get turned totally over?? I don’t get it. It defies logic and physics for this much to go wrong in 7 seconds. Truly mind boggling.
*Just like I’m not calling Miller Park ‘Am Fam Field,’ I’m not calling Twitter, ‘X.’ I can’t and I won’t. Not even if there’s a fire.
PS: This still image screams: ‘I bet you’re wondering how I ended up here…’ intro to a TV show:

Double PS: The only explanation that makes sense to me is that he sprayed himself down with some of this stuff before entry:
