When you Zoom in to your court hearing while driving your car with a suspended license.

By no means am I a legal expert, and by no means is this blog qualified to give any sort of legal advice. Most of my knowledge of the court system comes from Judge Judy episodes and David Gruber commercials. I just want that all on the table before I say what I’m about to say:

It is my opinion that you should not Zoom into a court appearance while driving when you have a suspended license and the judge has your record sitting directly in front of him.  Just feels like one of those, ‘you’re setting yourself up for failure’ situations.

I think my favorite part of this video is that he seemed to kind of know he was doing something he shouldn’t have been doing right from jump.

Jude: Mr. Harris, are you driving?

Mr. Harris: …..actually I’m parking right now.

Everybody knows parking and driving are two totally different things. Everybody. I’m not even sure you need a license to park a car. To drive it, sure. But to park? Pretty sure you don’t.

The parking part is what makes this even funnier. My man had to wait TEN seconds to park his car and then call into this hearing. He could have stepped outside of his car and sat down on a curb somewhere and no one would have been the wiser. Instead he clicked *connect* and almost instantly had to turn himself into police. Whoops!

PS: Had to laugh at this guy’s attorney choking back a chuckle while the judge laid everything out. Good to see she has a sense of humor! Feels like a job requirement if you’re a public defender.
