A 79-year-old Fond Du Lac man has died following a car accident Tuesday morning.
Fond du Lac Police say preliminary information indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound on West Scott Street when it proceeded through the four-way stop at North Pioneer Road. The vehicle then left the roadway to the north, traveled down a hill toward US Highway 41, and became airborne over the northbound lanes before coming to rest in the median.
The driver was found inside the vehicle. He was removed and provided medical care on scene by Fond du Lac Fire Rescue before being transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Police say the initial investigation shows the man may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash.
A second vehicle sustained minor damage; however, no occupants were injured. The incident remains under investigation.
