Live look at me on July 24th by the end of this film:

This documentary is 94 minutes long, and I’m virtually certain that I’m either going to be laughing or crying for every single one of those 94 minutes. It looks like we’re going to get a pretty close look at that 2024 season where his health was declining and we all had our hearts ripped out by the Mets in the Wild Card series. I’m not sure I’m ready for that emotional ringer, but I’m sure as hell not going to miss it.
Related: I wasn’t aware of the Uecker mural being painted in downtown Milwaukee, but a lot of progress has been made there as well:

I would imagine that at some point that mural is going to supplant the Bronz Fonz as THE picture taking spot in the city. Kind of wish he had a Usinger’s sausage with some CRISP kraut on a pretzilla-soft bun in his hands, but what can you do. “Wash that down with some Cedar Crest ice cream…..mmmmmmmmhmmmmmm….now that’s summer in Wisconsin.”
PS: Hard to believe this is already year #2 without Ueck on the call, but I often think him when certain moments happen during the course of the season. Like how would Ueck have reacted to the Uribe ‘DX crotch chop’ on Tuesday?? Also a God damn shame that an adult diaper is sponsoring bullpen changes on the radio broadcast when Ueck is no longer with us. What a ball he would have had with that!
