Register interns now for July 28 workshop to benefit your team, agriculture industry
DAIRY NEWS – Summer internships are an important part of many college students’ experiences as they prepare to enter the workforce as the next generation of agricultural leaders. Internship supervisors can offer additional value to their offerings by sending interns to a one-day workshop presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP).
Designed to enhance student communication and leadership skills, PDP Accelerate™ is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Madison East in Madison, Wis. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., and the workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Incorporating PDP Accelerate into an internship program offers advantages that benefit both student and employer. The fast-paced, interactive workshop – scheduled at summer’s midway point – focuses on sharpening leadership, communication and networking abilities while there is still time for those skills to be “brought home” to their day-to-day internship tasks. The program also enables interns to represent their employers with confidence and competence, connects them with additional resources, and prepares them for an impactful professional career.
“We love sending our interns to the PDP Accelerate because we want them to be the best equipped when their internship has ended and they’re entering the work force,” said Kiley Pagel, marketing advisor and HR representative at Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy. “Whether they’re going back to the family farm or venturing out into the off-the-farm world, we want them to have the tools to succeed on any path they take. PDP helps give them some of those tools through this program.”
PDP Accelerate will be facilitated by Michael Hoffman, founder and owner of Igniting Performance, Inc. He brings more than 30 years of experience in training leaders in sales, customer loyalty and leadership skills. For the past several years, he has regularly attended dairy workshops and tours alongside producers and other dairy professionals as a commitment to learning more about and immersing himself in the dairy industry.
Employers are encouraged to register their interns early, as space is limited. Learn more and register at www.pdpw.org or by contacting PDP at 800-947-7379. Follow along digitally in advance of and during the event by following @dairyPDPW on Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.
