Even a quick response by multiple agencies was unable prevent fire from causing extensive damage to a Sheboygan Falls home, its garage and an adjacent home. The Sheboygan Falls Fire Department was called to the 100 block of Columbine Lane just before midnight Wednesday where they, along with the Kohler Fire Department and Sheboygan Falls Police Department, encountered a house fully engulfed in flames. Multiple units were called in from the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Cedar Grove, Oostburg, the City of Sheboygan and Plymouth Fire Departments, while Orange Cross also attended.
The two-story home and its attached garage were aggressively attacked, and the blaze was under control within 20 minutes, but by then even a neighboring house had heat damage. Crews switched to overhaul protecting contents while looking for extension into other areas.
The four residents and two pets were able to safely evacuate the home prior to the department’s arrival and there were no injuries either to them or responding crews.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Unit and Sheboygan Falls Police Department.
