Sheboygan Police say a report of a juvenile yelling that they had been kidnapped was just a case of children playing. The SPD reports that most of the second-shift officers were called to Evergreen Park on Sunday after someone reported hearing a juvenile yelling that they were being kidnapped as they were leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers quickly determined there was no kidnapping and it was just teens and children playing.
While they’re thankful this was not an actual kidnapping, police say that it’s important for parents to speak to their children about the dangerous consequences of this type of play and behavior—even if unintentional. They also thanked the public for reporting the incident and prompting a quick response…just in case.
