More information has been learned concerning two notable automobile incidents that occurred within the past two weeks, one in Sheboygan and another near Campbellsport.
Public records have identified a driver arrested on numerous charges after a chase and crash in Sheboygan on August 23rd as 19-year-old Brady Boomsma of Sheboygan. He was arrested after police noted Boomsma revving his engine causing backfires, and then eluding police until he crashed causing minor injuries to a 73-year-old Sheboygan man. Boomsma faces two felony counts and numerous traffic citations connected to that crash, and he has now amassed a total of 33 traffic citations within the past 13 months. A pre-trial conference on those two felony charges is scheduled for October 27th in Sheboygan County Circuit Court.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office also said that they’ve located a driver connected to a weekend crash. A 43-year-old West Bend man who has not yet been identified left the scene after crashing into a home about 2 miles northeast of Campbellsport on Sunday morning. Officials say the man sustained non-life-threatening injuries, is receiving treatment at a local hospital and is cooperating with law enforcement. He will be issued multiple traffic citations related to the incident that caused an estimated $50,000 damage to the home.
