A new roadmap for how Sheboygan County will use its funding over the five years beginning in 2027 was passed on Tuesday night by the Sheboygan County Board. County Administrator Alayne Krause and Finance Director James Webb said that for 2027, the Five-Year Capital Plan includes numerous projects including the Interurban Trail Maintenance and Sheboygan Marsh Boardwalk for Planning and Conservation. Projects for Building Services include Jail and Detention Center equipment replacement and remodeling, county-wide fire alarm system replacement, HVAC infrastructure replacement and Electrical Infrastructure modernization, elevator upgrades, UW-GB Sheboygan Fine Arts Building Renovation, office LED light replacement, Law Enforcement Center Evidence Room remodel, and design for a facility at Health & Human Services.
Also on the to-do list for next year are radio equipment upgrades and public safety radio tower site erection for the Sheriff’s department. At Rocky Knoll, A and B building office area renovations, building first floor resident room renovations, and parking lot replacement are scheduled. The County will replace the VOIP phone system and network access layer refresh for Information Technology.
For Transportation, compliance updates will be done to the above ground fuel farm, runway 4-22 reconstruction, maintenance and terminal building generators, Lake Breeze Aviation backup generators – all at the Sheboygan County Airport – and Cascade Highway shed building improvements.
For 2027, capital projects total $15,972,654, and the offsetting reimbursement total $9,236,237. The total proposed bonding is $6,736,417.
