Green Bay Packers will face Falcons’ Penix

(LEARFIELD) – The Atlanta Falcons have named Michael Penix Junior their starting quarterback for Thursday Night Football against the Packers.

Penix suffered a serious knee injury last year in Week 11 and had been fully taking part in team practices since the end of the preseason.

ACME Packing Company reports that he has posted a 4-and-8 record as a starting quarterback for the Falcons, but is a clear upgrade over Cooper Rush and Jack Strand, the team’s quarterbacks in the first two games.

Tua Tagovailoa, Atlanta’s second stringer, is still rehabbing an injury.
