Residents will be able to learn how the County of Sheboygan manages hazards during an upcoming open house. The Sheboygan County Hazard Mitigation Plan is required by federal mandate in order to maintain eligibility for FEMA programs that provide grants and assistance in case of such natural hazards as flooding, severe storms, tornadoes, winter weather and wildfires.
A County Board committee was formed to develop the updated plan with guidance from the Planning and Conservation Department.
To find out more about what the plan entails and address any concerns, people can attend the open house in the Mead Public Library conference room #1 between 3 and 6 PM on Monday, October 19th. There’s no need to register – just stop in.
