Dunk of the Year? My goodness. pic.twitter.com/gQEbTC2kRa

We’ve been over this on the podcast before but I just want to give some context to the title of this blog: I watch a LOT of basketball. Like an unhealthy amount of basketball. Some Saturdays in the fall, I’ll do play-by-play for two college basketball games in the afternoon, come home and immediately turn on college basketball, and then watch two NBA games that night. I watch basketball like it’s oxygen I need to breathe. And I’m going to watch so much basketball Thursday-Sunday this week that my eyes are going to look like I spent an hour on Willie Nelson’s tour bus.
So, with that as background, this is the most insane dunk I’ve ever seen. And as a fan of the Bucks during the Giannis Era, I’ve seen some CRAZY dunks. Giannis has had some memorable ones, but this one always sticks out in my brain:
I mean he jumped OVER A HUMAN BEING with ease. Just ridiculous.
But this Anthony Edwards dunk last night takes the cake. I’ve never seen that combo of athleticism and viciousness. The spot that he actually took off, jumping over a defender, and extending his arm as far as he did, it’s all prepostorous.
Not to mention, the man dislocated a finger on his dunking had. THAT’S how hard he threw it down. Not only that, but the guy he posterized, John Collins, had to go into CONCUSSION PROTOCOL due to this dunk. I’ve never heard of that before. A dunk that injured the dunker’s hand and sent the guy he dunked on into concussion protocol. Wild. I’ve watched this dunk probably 100 times since last night, I’ve seen all sorts of still images, it boggles my mind how it’s even possible. I know this still-image is blurry but holy moly:
How, HOW does that end in a dunk. Nuts.
PS: NBA Inside Stuff was one of my favorite shows as a kid. JAM SESSION:
