A common phone scam is making the rounds in Sheboygan County, custom-tailored for those living here.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office says that numerous reports they’ve received relate a caller claiming to be affiliated with their office, attempting to get people to make payments for fake citations and warrant fees.
As always, the Sheriff said that the office will NEVER contact citizens and demand payments over the phone. If you receive such a call, you’re asked to first hang up, and then contact the Sheriff’s Office at 920-459-3111 to talk with a real Sheriff’s employee.
