ROLL THAT BEAUTIFUL BEAN FOOTAGE:
Man, do we miss Bob Uecker or what?? What a call! I hope Tucker Kraft and Micah Parsons are having a blast with him right now.
So the Brewers unveiled their coaching staff under Pat Murphy for 2026, and one name stuck out on Brewer Twitter when the official team account posted about it: Daniel Vogelbach! He’s one of two new hitting coaches for the upcoming season.
Vogelbach spent part of 2020 and 2021 in Milwaukee, then kicked around the league for a bit. He last played for Toronto in 2024.
Now how much of an impact is he going to have in 2026 in his first coaching role? Hard to say. He’s a .219 career hitter with 81 dingers in his 9 seasons in Major League Baseball. I wouldn’t say those numbers scream, “CAN TEACH OTHERS HOW TO HIT SUCCESSFULLY,” but some of the best coaches in baseball are former players who struggled at the major league level. I think Chris Hook is the best pitching coach in MLB, take a look as his career numbers for the Giants in the mid-90’s.
Here’s what I do know: For whatever he brings in terms of actual baseball strategy, he’s going to bring ten-fold in terms of vibes. I mean look at this unit:

You may not like it, but that is the male body at peak performance.
Plus, how can you not love a guy who bears such a striking resemblance to Chris Farley.

BAH GAWD!
So yes, I’m a tad skeptical about his coaching chops, but you just can’t go wrong having a guy like that in the clubhouse for 6 months. Another Murphy Masterstroke.
PS: I miss baseball so god damn much. Obviously hoping for a Packer run starting this weekend, but the injuries and the last month of games for Green Bay have been brutal. Bucks/Badgers/Marquette all look adrift. Give me back the Fightin’ Woodpeckers every night.
