There were no injuries following a massive barn fire at a Washington County dairy farm.
At least a dozen fire departments including Silver Creek, Beechwood and Random Lake in Sheboygan County, were called to the blaze at around 4:45 AM Monday at the Guttmann Dairy Farm near West Bend.
Officials say hay stored inside the barn burned for hours as crews worked to contain the blaze and protect nearby cows. It’s unclear what started the fire, but investigators believe it has something to do with an electrical panel located right outside of the structure. No injuries were reported and none of the dairy cattle on the property were harmed.
Officials say the two-story structure which included a milking parlor is likely to be a total loss, with damage estimated to be over one-million dollars.
