An attempted kidnapping in the Fond du Lac County Village of Rosendale was thwarted by the intended victim on Monday afternoon.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said the attack happened just after 3:30 yesterday afternoon as a 27-year-old mother and her 1-year-old son in a stroller walking the Mascoutin Valley Trail were approached by an unknown male. The man reportedly put a white cloth over the woman’s mouth and grabbed her by the neck. The woman was able to fight off the attacker and ran to a nearby home with her son and called 911.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives were able to identify a suspect based on eyewitness reports and security camera data, and made the arrest of a 21-year-old man at around 10:45 last night in a village residence. He’s being held on charges of attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery.
