An event designed for leaders from diverse fields to discuss, promote and celebrate the health of Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan Basin will take place in about two weeks.
Lake Michigan Day will be observed on Friday, August 14th from 8:30 AM until 3 PM at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc. The keynote speaker for the day is Allison Werner, the Executive Director with the River Alliance of Wisconsin who will highlight water quality policies shaping Wisconsin’s legislation, and how communities, organizations and law makers are leading the charge to combat PFAs contamination. Among the many participants are the DNR’s Milwaukee Estuary and Sheboygan River AOC Coordinator Brennan Dow, and Sheboygan County Planning & Conservation Director Aaron Brault. The panel discussions and a ceremony honoring the 2026 Champions of Conservation are followed by networking opportunities at the Wharf Bar.
