Several rounds of thunderstorms on Tuesday provided some much-needed rain for many, but not all in Sheboygan County, and those storms also caused some damage as they moved through.
Between the two rounds, far southern locations in the county picked up over an inch of rain, with 8-tenths of that picked up in only 20 minutes during the first round in Cedar Grove. The airport, however, had less than a quarter inch to show for the day.
Wind and lightning caused problems in many parts of the county. Trees fell on power lines and roofs in Plymouth, near Random Lake and also near the County Airport, and the Town of Wilson Fire Department was called to Kohler-Andrae State Park where lightning struck down and ignited a tree.
Sheboygan County was put under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, and a Warning was put into effect at 5:30 before expiring at 6:30 PM.
