Several local entities are beneficiaries of the WPS and We Energies Charitable Foundation through their Rewarding Responder Grants. The funding is helping first responders receive lifesaving equipment or training as part of a commitment to enhance safety by WPS and We Energies. A total of $225,000 in awards to nearly 120 first response agencies was announced on Thursday, and several local agencies will be recipients.
The Cleveland Fire Department was awarded a heavy-duty rescue saw, while the Cleveland Police Department received an automated external defibrillator.
Another local recipient is the Greenbush Fire Department which received a rope and pulley rescue system.
The WPS and We Energies foundations offer their Rewarding Responders Grant each year to emergency response agencies that operate in the WPS and We Energies service areas.
