Hazardous conditions continue on Lake Michigan near Sheboygan Tuesday morning following a period of gale-force winds. The National Weather Service says winds have been running as high as 35 to 40 knots, with waves reaching six to 12 feet in some areas. Sheboygan County was experiencing waves as high as 9 feet, and conditions are considered “life threatening.”
Even as winds ease, high waves and rough conditions are expected to linger with a Beach Hazard Statement in effect until sometime this afternoon. Boaters are advised to remain in port or use extreme caution.
