Visitors and residents are likely to get a new webcam for putting eyes on Sheboygan’s surf and sand.
On Monday, the Public Works Committee gave approval to an agreement with Visit Sheboygan and EOS to allow the installation of a live-stream camera on the Deland Park Beach House, where there’s an unobstructed view of surf conditions, wave activity, and the City’s surfing community.
EOS, which operates its Surf Snack Shack and Rentals from the facility, said the camera would face east toward the lakefront and continuously pan from north to south, and would be viewable through the Visit Sheboygan website that already hosts cameras viewing the lake from the North Pier, Marina, and Blue Harbor Resort.
The proposal will likely get approval at Monday’s Common Council meeting, clearing the way for the draft agreement and eventual installation.
